Preventive Laser Dentistry

The old adage says "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Preventive laser dentistry is worth its weight in gold for the complications and problems it may help eliminate.

Part of preventive dentistry is in early detection, and our laser diagnostics can find developing problems sometimes far in advance of any other examination method, including X-rays.

Laser teeth cleaning is a high-tech, advanced way to clean teeth and eliminate bacteria, viruses, toxins and other infectious agents from around the teeth and gums--without cutting into and injuring gum tissue the way the conventional teeth cleaning methods do.

Laser teeth whitening keeps your teeth looking their best, and the effects last longer than with ordinary whitening procedures.

Minor problems, such as small cavities, can be dealt with using our Laser Filling procedure, which uses a laser to clean out the decay and damaged tooth material, then fuse a toothlike, biocompatible material to the cleaned-out area, restoring the tooth to its original strength and appearance. This simple procedure may, in most cases, keep the treated tooth from needing any more dental treatments later in life (such as root canals or crowns).

Lasers play a key role in prevention in our practice, and we are constantly looking for new ways in which they can be utilized to make dentistry more patient-friendly and effecient.
